Yay and Nay for Open Concept

I’m just wrapping up the day now after answering the 15 or so email inquiries I got off a new rental listing I posted. It’s a very open concept space with a bedroom alcove and a glass sliding door enclosed solarium – not the easiest sell sometimes. I’m personally a huge fan of open concept, but the lack of privacy doesn’t sit well with everyone (see the floorplan below).

Of all the emails I responded to and the calls I took, I don’t think we got a real bite yet. This is actually the second time I’ve posted the property up and the first time, I actually found a tenant for the place who wanted it right away which is the dream scenario for a landlord with a vacant property. I gave her a business day to get a bank draft to pay for the deposit but that day probably proved to be too long as her situation changed and instead of getting this one person home, she decided to get a roomie and go for a 2 bed. GREAT! The night before we’re supposed to sign the lease, she emails me to let me know the bad news and I’m of course crushed as well not to mention the landlord! So close yet so far away – should have signed her on the spot perhaps, but no bank draft, no talk. Back to the drawing board… *sigh*

Let’s hope I get something from the re-posting as this place needs to go!!!
