Caught Up in the Fluff
My clients wanted to bid on a house that was done up to the max today, but I kinda, sorta convinced them out of it. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to make a sale, but only when the sale is the right one to make.
They're a young couple looking for their first home and of course, as classic first time buyers, they always fall for the houses with all the fluff. I mean, it's hard not to when a place is looking so smashingly perfect! However, there was a floating staircase in the middle, which would not bode well with kids. There was a senior's home right in the back yard, so there was no light or privacy. There was only 2 bedrooms in the home plus the attic and there was no other room to grow. There was no parking space with the home and the lot was short and narrow. And the worst thing of all for them was that there were 3 offers and the asking price was already close to their max.
I partially knew that they wouldn't be able to go to where they needed to in order to win and the other part just knew that the house wasn't right for them. That just means it's back to the drawing board for finding another place... hope they appreciate my honesty.
