Three Strikes... and We Keep Going Out
Sunday... who takes offers on Sunday? Well, apparently this agent does. GRRR... I had to cancel all my plans to do the offer tonight. Sucks, but it's the cost of doing business I suppose.
I went out for showings with some clients today and we happened to stumble upon a jewel on the Etobicoke waterfront. Of course, with all jewels, we weren't the only ones to discover it, so surprise, surprise - there was a bidding war. Looks like the multiple offer manifestation is spreading east and west of the core now. It's almost odd how the number of sales are decreasing across the Toronto Real Estate Board, yet the prices keep increasing.
Jamming in Jamaica
I'm going on vacation in Jamaica for a week - wheeeeeeeeeee!
Miracle Club Member
I was driving today on a way to a showing listening to the usual 99.9 Mix FM. It just so happened that it was power hour for the Sick Kids Radiothon and they needed 28 more people to join the Miracle Club so that Bell would donate an extra $10,000 to the hospital.
I used to go to the Sick Kids Hospital for my thyroid problem when I was a kid, so it's a place that's pretty near and dear to me. I called in right away and was glad to bring the count down to 27. I arrived at the home, but I actually stayed in the car listening to the radio until they made the mark... honestly, I feel really happy that I can give something back at least - even though it's just a little bit.
Woo hoo, I'm officially a new Miracle Club Member and you can be one too! Oh come on, you know you wanna...
Caught Up in the Fluff
My clients wanted to bid on a house that was done up to the max today, but I kinda, sorta convinced them out of it. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to make a sale, but only when the sale is the right one to make.
They're a young couple looking for their first home and of course, as classic first time buyers, they always fall for the houses with all the fluff. I mean, it's hard not to when a place is looking so smashingly perfect! However, there was a floating staircase in the middle, which would not bode well with kids.
Another Bidding War Gone Bad
Hmmmmm... at some point, all of this bidding stuff is going to start to defy logic or has it already? I just don't know anymore really. You have to be really aggressive these days to win these bidding wars, but sometimes it becomes compromising when you don't know if it's worth what they have to pay to win it.
What happened to good old fashion negotiating?
